The Gap
One missionary family can have one set of conversations. One family equipping church leaders can start a thousand. We have…
7,000+ students in the School of Evangelism and Discipleship.
83 in Berean School of the Bible
48 undergraduate students.
1.6% of Spaniards know Jesus as Savior.
Spain is not what you picture when you think of a mission field - and that’s exactly the problem.
When people picture missions, they imagine a village that’s never heard the name of Jesus, not a plaza in Madrid with a 500-year-old cathedral. Yet, that is exactly where one of the fastest-growing worldviews on earth is hiding in plain sight.
Spain isn’t hostile to the Gospel; it’s indifferent. A barber I know loved hearing how Jesus changed my life, but wanted nothing to do with church himself: “What’s good for you might not be good for me.” That’s the Spanish worldview in one haircut.
Most Spaniards will live their whole lives without one real conversation with a follower of Jesus. We call this the Gospel Access Gap. Even where the Spanish church is growing, it has hit a wall: leaders are called to pastor and plant, with limited ways of getting trained.
One missionary family can have one set of conversations. One family equipping church leaders can start a thousand.
When Rosa moved to Madrid from Nicaragua in 2020, she was completely alone days before the pandemic lockdown. Yet, a local pastor introduced her to Global University’s curriculum. She came to faith and soon invited her friend Bryan to church, who also accepted Christ.
Today, both work full-time jobs while training as pastors through the Berean School of the Bible—without ever leaving their city. They graduate next year. That’s the gap Global University exists to close, right in the margins of an ordinary working life.
Force Multipliers
Through Global University and AGWM, we put biblical training directly into the hands of Spanish believers in their own language, without requiring them to leave home. This curriculum reached a man serving a murder sentence in a Madrid prison who came to faith reading alone in the library. It’s reached immigrants, soldiers, and pastors building entire congregations.
“It is more necessary than ever to send workers who are prepared and trained for the harvest.” — Sergio Belmonte, former special-operations soldier, now associate pastor, trained through Global University.
