Gigantes Parade

Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain — August 31st, 2017

Every year during the annual Ferias Carnival in Alcalá de Henares are the family friendly activities. One of those activities is the Gigantes Parade that takes place in Plaza Cervantes. This parade consists of 27 giants, that range from 25 to 70 kilos, with the shortest being just over a meter, and the tallest being 4.20 meters. The Witch Gigante is one of several giants that parade around Plaza Cervante. This Gigante weighs 30 kilos, and is 3 meters tall. Young children participate in the Gigante Parade by wearing a Gigante child costume or a Big Head. Following the Gigantes is a small Spanish band play music from the end.
